7 Ways To Nourish Your Mind, Body, and Soul

Nourishing your body and soul is essential for keeping a healthy, balanced, and happy life. To nourish your soul is to do the little things that bring you peace and happiness. We all face difficult times in life and we may feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. We start to feel overwhelmed and as though nothing is in our control, which leads to stress and anxiety. Rather than giving up and going through a mental breakdown, it's important to engage in healthy habits that will help you out of hard situations and will nourish your mind, body, and soul.
Take a look at the list below for the best ways to nourish your soul and be sure to practice these every day for daily soul nourishment.
1. Healthy Purging
Taking the time to release negative emotions, thoughts, and behaviors will give you a relief. Let go of things that no longer serve you for your highest good. This can include:
Deep cleaning your home by getting rid of clothes that don't fit you or that you no longer wear, throwing away old papers and mail, rearranging furniture, dusting and sanitizing.
Cleaning and organizing the food closet, refrigerator, and freezer by throwing out old food and unhealthy food and beverages
Letting go of people who do not support you, give off bad vibes, and who are not taking care of themselves or growing in life. You can not expect to live a healthy and happy life if you choose to surround yourself with people who are unhealthy and full of negative energy because they are unhappy with their own life.

2. Spending Time in Nature
Take some time to smell the roses. We get so caught up in life doing the every day hustle, running errands, and everything else life brings. But it's important that we slow down and spend time outside being around trees, flowers, grass, and water. Nature gives us the benefit of automatically letting go and relaxing. Use this time to:
Take a therapy walk. Going on walks is my favorite way to nourish my mind, body, and soul. It's time that I get to be by myself to just breathe, clear my mind, and get a little exercise. Feel free to listen to calm music as it can help calm your mood to enjoy the present moment.
Sunbathe! We all know getting sunlight does wonders to our mood and it even boosts our vitamin levels.
Plant a garden. This is a great way to be one with nature because we get to dig dirt, plant seeds, and nourish them the same way we can nourish ourselves.
Engage in sports and activities. Our body needs physical activity to maintain our fitness abilities and levels. Hiking, swimming, running, biking, skiing, rock climbing, golfing, playing tennis, dancing, and so many more are great activities to participate in.

3. Journal
Writing in a journal is a great way to express yourself. It's personal to you and you can write whatever you please. I love journaling to connect to my higher self, release overwhelming thoughts, allow my mind to wonder, write what I remember from my dreams, ask questions, and to reflect on experiences.

4. Learning A Craft Or Skill
Nourishing your mind, body, and soul includes allowing yourself to be creative and have fun learning something new. What do you love to do? Doing what you truly want to do in life is a form of self-love. Set aside some time each day to have creative time where you allow your self to create music, art, design, build, cook, bake, etc. This will help you develop and maintain creativity and happiness.

5. Give Back
Giving back is another way to nourish your soul especially when you do it with a purpose. Look for opportunities to volunteer your time and energy or ways that you can donate items or money.

6. Consume Inspiring Books and Movies
Nourishing your soul with positive content is very important as it can influence the way you think and feel about your life. Read books and watch movies that give you knowledge, guidance and inspiration in life. Seeing characters that are facing trials and tribulations can motivate those who feel stuck and/or are facing hardships as well. Avoid watching violent movies as these can cause you to feel more aggressive or stressed because that's what violent content does to the mind.

7. LAUGH
Laughing is good for the soul. There's nothing better than being a happy person, so be sure to embrace moments of humor (when appropriate of course). Watch shows or movies that will give you a good laugh, and spend time around friends and family who love to see you smile.
