Are You "Keeping Up With The Joneses" Or Yourself? 🧐
Updated: May 2, 2022
Stop comparing yourself to other people! You subconsciously develop jealousy within your mind body and spirit.
Many of us may already know this, but surprisingly there is a large number of people who find themselves focused on a "Keeping Up with the Joneses" mindset.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with that phrase, it simply refers to one's own comparison to their neighbor for social class and/or material goods.

The biggest mistake we make is believing that we are supposed to be doing or possessing the same thing as someone else in order to:
Fit in
Receive attention, fame, acknowledgment, etc.
Feel valuable or worthy to others
We can easily get discouraged when comparing where we are in life to others if we see that they seem to be:
Doing well in life while we're facing adversity or hardships
Getting ahead with their goals while we are struggling to see to results from ours
In a happy relationship while we are experiencing emotional pain, divorce, or feeling lonely
Moving up in their career while we are just trying to make ends meet, or struggling to find a job
Buying a new home or living in a nicer one than yours
And many other things.

You will never experience happiness and freedom if you continue to compare yourself to other's lifestyles, material goods, careers, etc, because you will always find something else that you have to possess or accomplish simply due to you seeing your peers with it.
You are here for your own purpose and to live your life on your own path. What someone else has accomplished or is currently doing is NOT about your journey in life.
Comparison to others is only going to push you backwards and keep you trapped in a hole.
Shift your focus on the necessary actions that are going to get you on the path to achieving your goals and living your desired lifestyle.
